A petition of Summit residents and local businesses negatively impacted by and/or opposed to the recently approved Ordinance #7754 by the City of Summit Common Council.

Summit Ordinance #7754 arbitrarily bans the use of all gas powered leaf blowers from June 1, 2021 to August 31, 2021.

Process Issues - communication, transparency, lack of public involvement, time to transition, number of documented complaints, e.g., the lack of documented support such as by the Ad Hoc Committee, Council, and via OPRA Requests.

Overreach - Gas powered leaf blowers should not be banned at all.

Timing - Small businesses and residents are still struggling through the pandemic, this ban should be tabled for discussion at a later date.
