During the recent Hurricane Dorian 11 AM Disaster Calls with providers, AHCA Secretary Mary Mayhew made it clear she expects providers to be in full compliance with their respective Emergency Environmental Control Rule (Generator Rule); Rule 58A-5.036, F.A.C., for Assisted Living Facilities and Rule 59A-4.1265, F.A.C., for Nursing Homes by December 31, 2019.

Governor DeSantis and the Legislature have also expressed their expectations for providers to have permanent generators installed. Given the timeframe since the initial Rules took effect, the expectations of policymakers and continued publicity around this issue, variances beyond December 31, 2019, seem unlikely.

Together with AHCA, FHCA is gathering data to identify the obstacles in the permanent installations process. Please complete the information below by September 25, 2019.  Be as thorough as possible and share specific details about what issues are causing delays and how AHCA may assist you with meeting the requirements by year's end.
