Global Talent Accelerator Application (Spring 2020)

The Global Talent Accelerator (GTA) assists international students and recent graduates looking to thrive in Southeast Michigan’s job market. 

In the Accelerator you will:
-Learn skills from the experts on how to sell yourself to the U.S. job market
-Get coaching from professionals in your field
-Attend events and workshops tailored to improve your chances of employment
-Take insider tours of some of metro Detroit’s top companies 

Eligible students must be in their final year of undergraduate or graduate studies, expecting to graduate in 2020 and are eligible for OPT/CPT.

The tentative schedule is attached below for your reference and is subject to change.  

Week 1 (March 6)
-Orientation / Welcome
-Workshop: Immigration A-Z
-Company Tour 1
Week 2 (March 13)
-Workshop: Resume & Cover Letter 
-Workshop: Elevator Pitch 
-Workshop: Interviewing Skills
-Company Tour 2
Week 3 (March 20)
-Workshop: Networking Skills
-Workshop: Business Etiquette
-Speed networking with employers
Week 4 (March 27)
-Workshop: Creating Your LinkedIn Brand
-Company Tour 3 
-Closing Ceremony

Workshops will be held during the day at various corporate locations across metro Detroit. Participants will be responsible for their own transportation and commit to attending all workshops and events for the entire program.

The application must be submitted by Feb. 21st, 2020.
