Your views wanted September 2024

Teignbridge District Council, as ‘the licensing authority’ are reviewing the ‘statement of principles’, as required by the Gambling Act 2005, and is now available for public consultation. Comments are welcome from the police, the fire service, licence holders, businesses, local residents and their representatives.

The licensing objectives under the Gambling Act are;
Preventing gambling from being a source of crime or disorder, being associated with crime or disorder, or being used to support crime.
Ensuring that gaming is conducted in a fair and open way, and
Protecting children and other vulnerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling.

Please read the licensing authorities draft ‘Statement of Principles’ , along with information of the changes that have been made. We would be grateful if you could take time to read and comment upon if you wish. We would appreciate any views you may have along with the reason why.

All information provided is anonymised and will be presented to the Council’s Licensing Committee on 28 November 2024 and Full Council on a date to be arranged. Any personal data provided will be held securely and deleted after the Full Council decision has been made. We will not share your details with third parties.
