Please help us by answering a few questions about CGD.

* How often do you use Candida Genome Database (CGD)?

* Which CGD features do you use most often? Please rank in order of frequency of use (1 = use most often; 10 = use least often; 0 = never use).

  1 - Use most often 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 - Use least often 0 - Never use

* Which of CGD's existing features or tools needs improvements? What should we do to improve it/them?

* Would you like there to be a systematic nomenclature for C. albicans ORFs?

* If so, should it be similar to the position-based nomenclature used for S. cerevisiae ORFs?

* Do you have other suggestions about nomenclature for C. albicans ORFs?

* We are considering new directions as we reapply for CGD's funding in the coming months. Please prioritize the following possible projects (1 = most important, 6 = least important).

  1 - most important 2 3 4 5 6 - least important
Improvements to the genomic sequence (e.g., using new sequence data to correct ambiguous bases, gaps, assembly problems, ORF annotation)
Developing a systematic nomenclature for C. albicans ORFs
Incorporating microarray data and analysis tools
BLAST tool that incorporates host sequence as well as fungal pathogen sequence
Annotating/displaying transcription factor binding sites and other transcript information
Other new directions (please specify below)

* Would you be willing to write a letter of support to help CGD's next grant renewal application?
If so, please enter your name and email address. If you would like this questionnaire to be anonymous but are willing to write a letter, please email us separately at
We would greatly appreciate your support in continuing to provide this database to the community.

* Any other comments/questions about CGD?
