The Boston Region Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is collecting ideas for new transportation studies and technical assistance projects to be included in the Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2022 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP). Each year, the UPWP supports efforts to gather data about the region’s transportation system, identify the needs of transportation system users, develop a range of transportation project concepts with the goal of creating communities that are safe, accessible, walkable, bikeable, and resilient, and anticipate trends shaping the transportation industry.
These efforts provide insight and recommendations to the MPO’s municipal and regional partners, generate new data, and help shape concepts for the region’s transportation future.
Anyone can submit an idea for a study. Submit your study suggestions by completing the following survey, filling out the MPO’s feedback form, or emailing the UPWP Manager, Sandy Johnston, at sjohnston@ctps.org.
Requests for technical assistance projects must be submitted in partnership with municipal officials. If you have an idea for a technical assistance project, submit it through this survey along with your contact information and MPO staff will connect you with your local officials to help develop the request. Visit the MPO’s technical assistance webpage to learn more.
