Introduction

To begin, I would like to thank you for taking the time to contribute to the validation study of our entry-level firefighter tests - we are best able to prove our tests' effectiveness with participation from agencies like yours.

In the questions that follow, you will be asked to input demographic information of firefighters who have been hired using a test from IPMA-HR's FF-EL test series.

Next, you will be asked to indicate which FF-EL test they took and the score they received on that test.  If you do not currently have access to this information, but believe you will be able to locate it, please indicate that in the space provided in the survey.

Finally, you will be asked to provide contact information for up to three supervisors who are familiar with the work of each firefighter.  We will be following up with each supervisor to complete a short, confidential performance evaluation for each firefighter.  These evaluations will then help us determine how strongly our current FF-EL tests predict on-the-job performance.

Please only include the above information for one firefighter per page in this survey.  You must hit the "Next Firefighter" button at the bottom of each page to move on to the next firefighter.  Please complete the survey for all firefighters for which you have FF-EL score data.  Once you've input all the data you have, you may exit the survey.  You may enter and exit this survey as many times as you need.

Please Note: All information gathered for this study will remain strictly confidential.  All data gathered will be combined with data from other departments and only reported in the form of group statistics.

If you have any questions about the study or participation, please contact IPMA-HR's Research & Development Associate, Julia Hind-Smith, at jsmith@ipma-hr.org or (703)535-5252.
