FE Workforce Levelling Up Payments Survey

Dear AELP member,

In April, the Department for Education announced Levelling Up Payments for some Further Education staff. Eligible further education (FE) teachers who will be able to apply for a levelling up premium payments from autumn 2024 until spring 2025. The levelling up premium payment ranges from £2,000 to £6,000, depending on:

the provider you teach at
the number of hours you teach

Independent Training Providers (ITP's) do not currently count as an eligible provider and as a result teaching staff employed by an ITP are unable to apply for a levelling up premium payment.

As this the first application window draws closer, AELP is seeking insights from its members, regarding the impact this announcement is having on ITPs and their recruitment and retention of staff.
