FEICA Survey - Introduction to the concept of generic risk assessment and extension of hazard classes |
The EU Chemicals Legislation is currently reviewed by the EU Commission and will see major changes in the next 2 years. One of the proposed changes is that for all use outside of industrial installations, i.e. professional and consumer uses, a wide range of hazardous substances could be banned by a simple procedure without assessing whether there is a risk at all or whether the remaining risk can be well controlled. This would put skilled professionals, e.g. in the construction industry and other crafts, onto the same level as private consumers and this proposal could result in many products and product technologies no longer being available for professional users.
This questionnaire intends to collect information that demonstrates how professional users are well organized to handle chemical products with hazard classifications (red rhombus symbols on the label). Please be as precise as possible. All answers are voluntary and the individual responses will not be shared with anybody outside FEICA.
