* 8. The Food Education Fellowship requires teachers to use food education in their classroom and to integrate at least one food education lesson into their core content at least once per week. Is the candidate able to do this in your school next year?

Ideally, teachers are able to bring food into their classrooms to teach food education; however, the Food Education Fellowship has been designed so that if teachers are not able to do that, food education can be taught in other ways without the physical presence of food. * 10. The Food Education Fellowship requires teachers to attend virtual professional development sessions on August 10th and 11th all day and after school from 5-7PM Central once a month. Teachers should not be required to use personal time or vacation time for professional development.

Fellows are also expected to create and implement an evaluation plan in his/her classroom. For example, a teacher may evaluate the effects of food education on math or reading achievement in his/her classroom.
