The State Government is developing a 10 Year Strategy for Reducing Family and Domestic Violence in Western Australia (the Strategy). It will guide a whole of community approach to prevention and earlier intervention, victim safety and perpetrator accountability.

The Strategy will include a focus on access and inclusion, and consider the unique and diverse needs of Aboriginal people, people with disability, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people who identify as LGBTQ+1 and people in regional and remote Western Australia.

To inform development of the Strategy, the Department of Communities is undertaking extensive consultation and wants to hear from all Western Australians. This survey is one part of the consultation process.

Responses to this survey are anonymous, voluntary and you may choose not to answer every question.

The survey includes three main areas:
  1. Information about you.
  2. Feedback on draft elements of the Strategy including the definition of family and domestic violence, vision statement, principles and goals.
  3. Your thoughts on what needs to happen to prevent family and domestic violence in Western Australia.

For further information about the Strategy including other opportunities to get involved and have your say, go to www.communities.wa.gov.au/fdv

Please contact FDVStrategy@communities.wa.gov.au if you have any queries or concerns, or require the survey in another format.
