Survey Introduction

As you may be aware, the Goldfields Designated Area Representative (Goldfields DAR) i.e. the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is preparing a business case to negotiate the terms for the third year of the WA Goldfields Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) with the Department of Home Affairs.

The Goldfields DAMA partners include the Shires of Coolgardie, Dundas, Esperance, Leonora, Menzies and Ravensthorpe, as well as, CMEWA, RDAGE and KBCCI.

The Goldfields DAR may provide an updated list of occupations and a maximum on the number of migrant workers that may be nominated during the third year Goldfields DAMA period ( 21st March 2021 to 21st March 2022). The Goldfields DAMA program may seek an extended list of occupations as a result of this survey. Currently, the Goldfields DAMA Year 2 program has 125 occupations.  See this link for the Occupation List.

It is essential that if you think you might need a migrant worker in your business, that you provide this feedback to us now (via this 20 minutes survey). This in no way commits you to using a migrant worker, but it enables us to ensure a sufficient pool of labour for the Goldfields-Esperance region.

We always advocate that employment should be offered to Australians first. Where there is a skills shortage, we believe skilled migrants are critical to supplement the local workforce.

The current Goldfields DAMA utilises the TSS (Subclass 482), SESR (Subclass 494) and/or the ENS (Subclass 186) via a labour agreement stream.

Your survey response is completely anonymous and confidential. We shall not disclose details of any individual to any person or entity under any circumstances.
