Level 3 GP Practice Business Administrator Apprenticeship
The GP Practice Business Administrator Apprenticeship is a government-funded programme designed to upskill staff in primary care settings to lead teams, manage services, and drive improvements
The programme is approximately 15 months long and requires apprentices to to allocate 6 hours of their working time, per week, to the apprenticeship - which is split between teaching and workshops, self -paced learning and the practical application of skills.
The programme is made up of the following modules:
Effective Stakeholder Management
Work professionally with patients, colleagues, suppliers, and external partners
Primary Care Legislation and Policies
Understand the key policies that protect patients and support safe service delivery
Project Management
Support or lead service improvement projects within your practice
Time Management and Organisation
Use tools and techniques to prioritise tasks and manage your workload
Digital and IT Skills
Work confidently with EMIS, Accurx, and other practice systems
Communication and Decision Making
Make informed decisions and communicate effectively in a busy setting
Record Keeping and Quality
Maintain accurate data, support audits, and uphold high standards
The apprenticeship is ideal for non-clinical staff (Receptionists, Patient Services Officers, Admin Assistants, Reception Managers etc) looking to build skills in practice operations and NHS administration.
