About the Board

The Board is responsible for governance and ensuring the effective management of YACSA and its activities, including finances, and compliance with legal requirements. The Board sets the strategic direction of the organisation, allocates resources and develops an annual budget and business plan. The day to day management, including personnel management, of the organisation is undertaken by the Chief Executive Officer.

YACSA values the contributions of young people in the governance and strategic direction of the organisation and has a longstanding constitutional commitment to encourage and welcome young people who are 18-25 years of age to the Board.

Members of the Board are elected for a two-year term.

As per the updated constitution, candidates for board election need to have been individual members of YACSA for at least three months prior to nomination. If you have relevant skills and experience that you feel would be of benefit to the YACSA board but have not held individual membership for the relevant time period, we still want to hear from you. If you have any questions or wish to discuss board nomination further, please contact Anne Bainbridge via email anne@yacsa.com.au. To check your membership status email Doug at doug@yacsa.com.au.

The Board meets on the third Wednesday of the month at YACSA from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. All matters considered by the Board are confidential, including financial, personnel and contractual matters. Board members will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement and ensure that all papers are confidential and kept in a secure location.
