Introduction

The Four County Labour Market Planning Board is calling on employers like you to help us better understand the workforce issues and challenges facing local businesses. The EmployerOne survey collects information on a range of issues including annual projected vacancies, hiring intentions, recruitment strategies and challenges.  After analysis, the data is released to schools, community partners, government agencies and the public so that they may see the skills needed to join our local labour force.

Who this survey is for:
This survey is open to all employers – with at least one employee – in the Bruce/Grey/Huron/Perth region.
This survey should be completed by a representative (e.g. owner or management staff) who can speak to the organization’s workforce experiences in 2019.

Although the communities of Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, Clearview and Stayner are outside the four county region, we are collecting survey responses from employers to support workforce activities in this geographic area.

What you need for the survey:
Before you begin, you will need 2019 numbers (or estimates) for: employees hired, employees who left the organization, and projected vacancies in 2020.

Why this survey matters:
EmployerOne is one of the only tools that collects labour market demand data for our region. This information is crucial to building a strong and resilient workforce.

Last year, most businesses completed this survey in less than 10 minutes.

Your business may receive EmployerOne from more than one source; please only complete the survey once.

If you are the sole proprietor of your business – you have not had any employees in the past year, and you do not plan to hire in 2020 – we thank you for your interest, but you do not need to complete the survey as the questions are only relevant for businesses with employees.

A copy of the results of this survey will be available at www.planningboard.ca in March 2020.

Privacy and Confidentiality:
You will not be asked for identifying information (name, company name, address, etc.) Your responses will be collected anonymously and data will be published in aggregate form only. If you have any questions about how your survey responses will be used, please contact sarah@planningboard.ca
