Family Connections Registration: 2026-27 School Year at Batavia Public Schools

Family Connections for Families in Batavia School District

What's Included in each series of 8 weekly evenings from 5:30-8:00 PM? - Family Dinner - Family Games - Children Play Without Electronics - Positive Environment - Parent Discussions - Meet Other Families From Your Community -

Who’s invited? All elementary-school families living in Batavia Public School District 101 are invited. Bring younger and older siblings to join the fun. Grandparents, additional household members, and children’s caregivers are welcome, too.

Let’s connect in-person to build the “village” it takes to raise a child.
Enjoy one evening per week that energizes you through joy and laughter and relieves some stress. How?

Bring your WHOLE FAMILY together (ALL ages are welcome) to:

5:30 PM Be present in conversation while eating dinner served to you - engaging conversation starters are provided to move families beyond the brief answers children typically give when questioned about their day.

6:00 PM At your family table, play games such as “Feelings Charades” and “Doodle Talk” that help your family members learn more about each other, develop a feeling word vocabulary, practice taking turns, and laugh together during the fun.

6:30 PM Children are then given time to play together (outside when weather allows) WITHOUT electronics (children may work on homework if they bring it) under the supervision of facilitators.

Meanwhile, adults talk together in a group about parenting and self-care topics (and anything else parents want to discuss) facilitated by a leader ready to provide stress-relief tips and other emotional wellness information - listen or contribute to the discussion as you feel comfortable.

7:30 PM Parents are given time to play one-on-one with one of their children each night of the program.

7:45 PM At least once during the series, each participating family receives a gift card for family activities.

Children thrive within predictable routines - Family Connections has been building and strengthening positive family routines for over 20 years!
