Definition. Lifetime members are individual physicians who make a lifelong commitment to FCAAP membership. Lifetime members pay a single membership fee upon approval of their application and do not pay recurring annual dues to FCAAP. (Lifetime membership only applies to FCAAP; it does not apply to the national American Academy of Pediatrics).
Qualifications. Lifetime Membership with FCAAP is only available to Pediatricians and Pediatric Specialists who have been a Fellow Member of FCAAP for at least five (5) years. While the FCAAP Fellow Membership must be active at the time of application, the five years of FCAAP membership as a Fellow do not have to be consecutive. Membership as a Student or Resident may not be included in the calculation of the five-year requirement. Lifetime Membership with FCAAP is not available to any other FCAAP membership types, including Allied Health Professionals and Associate Members.
Application Process. Current FCAAP Fellow Members interested in Lifetime Membership must submit an application to the FCAAP Membership Department. Applications will be reviewed by FCAAP Staff and applicants will be notified of acceptance or rejection within three (3) weeks. If an application is approved, the applicant will receive an invoice for payment of the membership fee. Invoices must be paid within thirty (30) days. Once payment is received, the Lifetime Membership will be activated. Any special circumstances, considerations, or conflicts raised in an application will be submitted to the FCAAP Membership Committee for review and discussion at their next regularly scheduled meeting. The Membership Committee will issue a recommendation to the FCAAP Executive Director for a final decision. The FCAAP Executive Committee or Board of Directors may be consulted as needed before a final decision is made.
This application is only for Lifetime Membership with the Florida Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FCAAP) and does not include membership with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
Fees. Upon approval of an application for Lifetime Membership, a one-time membership fee must be paid before the Lifetime Membership can be considered activated. The fee will be set by the FCAAP Board of Directors in the same way all membership dues are set pursuant to the Bylaws. Lifetime Membership may not be cancelled, and no refunds will be issued once the membership fee has been paid. No refunds, credits, or adjustments will be made to the Lifetime Membership fee regardless of when an applicant’s regular annual membership dues were paid prior to the approval of the Lifetime Membership application. FCAAP Lifetime Membership requires a one-time dues payment of $1,500.
