Survey on Summer Quarter Income & Health Insurance

Three weeks ago, we delivered our petition requesting extensions of ASE and Postdoc appointments due to COVID-related delays. You helped make a strong statement along with more than 2800 others who signed on! Since that time we’ve seen multiple departments offer appointment extensions -- including additional appointments, stipends, and health insurance coverage -- to individuals in advance of summer quarter. This is great news, but we’re continuing to push for more support, particularly for individuals who are barred from working off campus due to visa status, travel restrictions, and are not eligible for social safety net programs like unemployment or state-provided health insurance. We also are lobbying for additional funding at the Federal, State and City level to support academic workers and particularly international students and scholars (see this page for more information).

To help identify members with needs going into summer quarter, our UAW Appointments Working Group has developed this brief survey. Please take 3 minutes to fill it out now.
