Pediatric Challenges for the Community Anesthesiologist

  1. Identify pharmacological and non-pharmacological perioperative strategies to prevent/manage acute postoperative pain and reduce the risk to develop chronic post surgical pain.
  2. Discuss the need for education specific to pediatric transfusion medicine and describe the development and delivery of a pediatric specific transfusion medicine curriculum for Canadian non-transfusion medicine learners.
  3. Describe the concerns associated with button battery ingestion and how to mitigate them as an anesthesiologist.
