Introduction to the Survey
The Dubbo Regional Livestock Markets (DRLM) is one of Australia’s top three livestock saleyards in terms of combined sheep and cattle and a vital regional economic driver.

However, the landscape is shifting rapidly: industry consolidation, the rise of direct-to-processor sales, the closure of smaller saleyards, and the growing dominance of digital platforms are transforming how livestock is bought, sold, and transported.

The DRLM vision is to modernise and move towards a hybrid hub—combining physical yards, digital trading, and integrated logistics—so that selling stock is faster, simpler and easier. “Hybrid hub” refers to a DRLM that combines on-site selling with remote participation, real-time data, and integrated transportation and services. Its customers will be able to sell or buy in-yard or online, see status live, settle faster, and roll straight into logistics.

This survey will help develop a brand that supports the vision, investment, and aspirations of all stakeholders.
