At SEPTA, sharing the holidays with our customers and their families is an important part of the season. We are committed to provide you with safe, clean, courteous and comfortable service every day of the year, but especially during the holidays. 

Once again, the City is alive with decorations, lights, bells and that special holiday glow! So why not plan a family adventure and take a special holiday excursion on SEPTA with friends and families!? Ride into the town on a bus, train or trolley and leave the driving (and parking) to us. Let Santa’s Express whisk you into the City on Black Friday for a day of fun and activities!

There is so much to see and do in the City this winter. Bring the kids and enjoy the Holiday Festival at City Hall, visit Franklin Square and the Spectacle Light Show, stroll through Christmas Villages at Dilworth Park, Love Park and the City Hall Courtyard, go ice skating at the seasonal ice rinks at Dilworth Park and Penn’s Landing. Don’t miss the Macy’s Christmas Light Show that has delighted families for generations or a new favorite, the Comcast Holiday Spectacular.

SEPTA’s fleet of Holiday Buses will be on display Saturday December 8th (weather permitting) as part of the Holiday Celebration on East Market, so please visit all of them and choose your favorite. Who knows, maybe you’ll find Santa behind the wheel of a SEPTA Holiday Bus! Sit behind the wheel of the historic Holiday Trolley in the subway level of 1234 Market Street, bang the gong and journey into old Philadelphia! Be sure to visit SEPTA’s Transit Store and working Model Train Displays in the lobby of 1234 Market Street (closed Sundays).

For the first time, the SEPTA Western Holiday Express train will be on display in Suburban Station on select dates, starting on November 23rd (Black Friday). And on Saturday December 15th from 10am-5pm kids 16  are offered complimentary rides with parents or guardians on the special Holiday, on the hour and half hour, from the Trolley Gardens at 40th Street Portal (courtesy of the University City District).
