Thanks for checking out this opportunity

Youth Affairs Council Victoria (YACVic) is supporting the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) to improve the way they understand and work with young people. We are looking for young Co-designers to help evaluate, influence and drive the DJCS youth engagement strategy.

The work of DJCS can impact all of us, it includes:

·         The justice system

·         Personal records

·         Emergencies & incidents

·         Community

·         Family

·         Workplace

·         Infrastructure and road safety

·         Legal and consumer rights

·         Alcohol and gambling

All these areas can be significant in a young person’s life.

What does it involve?

We are looking for young people interested in giving feedback and improving youth participation in DJCS. Co-designers will take part in three guided online sessions, talking about how DJCS can listen to and communicate with young people better.

The sessions will be based on the following themes:

Looking Back – Unpacking the work of the department and the experiences of the group.
The Future – What would an ideal future look like? What changes can the department make? What should an ongoing advisory group include?
Next Steps - Discuss some ideas and changes DJCS are considering. Talk through these ideas together.

The three sessions will happen mid December 2020 and early February 2021.

Please note that there might be some extra prep and tasks between each session.

We will make sure that all meetings and events are accessible and inclusive. We will also provide support during the meetings and events so that you can take part in a way that works best for you.

Please complete this survey if you are interested in taking part and we'll be in touch with you soon!
