Disability Law Center Focus Group: DSBVI

Hello! The Disability Law Center is in the process of goal planning for the next two years. This is an opportunity for us to revisit the work we are already doing and plan out what we would like to accomplish. As part of this process we like to reach out to various disability communities to get feedback on what issues people are experiencing and how we can better serve the community. All answers you provide us are anonymous and will help guide our goal planning. The more details you provide, the better we will understand the issues faced by the community. We appreciate your partnership in this process. Thank you!
.If you have questions about your rights as a person with a disability or questions about disability services, who do you contact?
.What do you think are the biggest barriers to successful employment for you or for the disability community in general? (examples: transportation, discrimination in hiring process, reasonable accommodation issues, etc.)
.Have you faced barriers getting disability-related accommodations at work? Do you know how to ask for a reasonable accommodation at work and what your rights are?
.What do you think about the services offered by Vocational Rehabilitation (VR/Voc Rehab)? What, if anything, would you like to see change to make VR services better?
.What are your biggest barriers to finding housing?
.Have you encountered any housing providers denying you housing due to a housing or Section 8 voucher?
.Have you encountered any housing providers denying your assistance animal or charging you extra fees for it?
.What do you think the Disability Law Center could do to better serve the community?
.In your opinion, what are the three most important issues people with disabilities in Utah face?
