Introduction
Daisy Street between South 51st Place and South 42nd Street was upgraded in 2020 as the first phase of improvements to the Daisy Street and Virginia Avenue corridor. This route serves as an important east–west connection and provides an alternative to Main Street. The upgrades were designed to improve safety and comfort for people walking, biking, and living along the street.
These safety upgrades included one speed hump and three raised crosswalks, to help slow traffic and create a safer, more comfortable experience. Alongside the speed calming pilot project on Centennial Boulevard, Traffic Engineering Staff are taking a closer look at how these features are working. We want to know if the speed calming measures are improving safety, making a difference in driver behavior, or creating challenges for people who use the street.
Please share your feedback by taking an anonymous survey. It only takes about five minutes to complete and will help guide future decisions about speed calming and street safety. Visit the project webpage to learn more and participate.
