Welcome to the Tuna Principle 2 Pre-assessment Survey

MRAG Americas is working with the International Seafood Sustainability Foundation (ISSF) to assess cumulative impacts of tuna fisheries, based on criteria developed by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), a standard setter for sustainable fisheries around the world.  This pre-assessment for tuna fisheries focuses specifically on Principle 2 (P2) species across tuna-RFMO areas and gear types. This survey provides the opportunity for stakeholders to comment on the methodology and to improve the overall assessment.  Two accompanying files should be read and reviewed before completing the survey, including a report by MRAG Americas summarizing the approach taken for this P2 assessment and the resulting PSA scores in an Excel file.  Please keep these files in mind when completing the following survey questions.

We understand that some reviewers will be familiar with a particular fishery while others will be familiar with multiple areas and gear types. If you primarily work with one fishery, you can expect the survey to take 5-10 minutes; if you work with multiple fisheries, the survey may take upwards of 20-25 minutes.  We thank you for your time. Your input provided through this survey will be extremely valuable in the current assessment.

Thank you for participating in this survey.
