Rising to the Challenge: College and Career Readiness for All!
Carol Dahir, Ed.D., Professor and Chair, School Counseling Department, NYIT
With the national, state, and New York City emphasis on all students’ college and career readiness, what does it take to create a college-going culture in your school? How do we motivate students to look to the future when we struggle to get them to come to school every day? College and career readiness means that every student graduates high school with the knowledge and skill to succeed in college and career. Explore how to facilitate students’ understanding of the relationship between career planning, high school choice, and postsecondary opportunities, and motivate students to actively participate in the process.
This webinar series is supported, in part, with a federal GEAR UP grant awarded to Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities (cIcu) by the Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC), the state agency designated to administer the state’s NYGEAR UP grant.
