Nonprofit executives face enormous challenges – internally and externally—and finding peers for counsel, solace, and support can be difficult.

Enter Executive Sessions, a monthly workshop of nonprofit Executive Directors offering a combination of brainstorming, education, peer accountability, and support in a group setting to sharpen your skills and support your leadership. Our focus is on your success.

Together, Barry Silverberg and Tara Levy have more than 60 years of experience as nonprofit leaders, practitioners, and educators, and they will lead and mentor the 9-month program. Executive Sessions helps you with creative ideas, problem solving, and wise decision-making.

In each session, we will learn about best practices and trends in nonprofit management, using participants’ success stories and challenges as real-time case studies. Triumphs are applauded (loudly!), and problems are tackled (compassionately!) through peer brainstorming and collective, creative thinking, guided by the group facilitators.

The content of each two-hour session will run the gamut from working with staff, board, and volunteers to budgeting and financial management, and specific topics will be incorporated based on a pre-class assessment of participants. This assessment will also serve as a benchmark for personal growth, as each participant will meet independently with Barry or Tara at three points during the series to prioritize individual’s growth plans.

The group requires commitment, confidentiality, and the willingness to support each other with total honesty, respect and compassion.

The class will meet from 2:00 – 4:00 pm on the following Thursdays from February through October 2019 at Austin Community College:

One-on-one mentor meetings with Tara and Barry will be scheduled in February, July, and October.
