It is with our greatest respect that we – Esquao, the Institute for the Advancement of Aboriginal Women – acknowledge your expertise as Indigenous women and 2Spirit+ people living in Treaty 6, 7, 8 (Alberta).

Esquao is a non-profit organization that serves to amplify the voices of Indigenous women on the issues and challenges they face.

Goal of this survey: Follow up on 7 key issues outlined in the “113 Pathways to Justice: Recommendations of the Alberta Joint Working Group on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls” submitted to the Government of Alberta in December 2021.

Who can complete this survey? All Indigenous women and 2Spirit+ people (18 years of age +) living in Alberta.

How long will it take? Approximately 20 minutes.

What will the survey ask? You will be asked to share your experience (from January 2022 to present) in relation to 7 key issues: child welfare, court services, family violence, housing, law enforcement, victims services, missing persons alerts. Why are we asking these questions? Your contributions will help us produce a publicly available “report card” in a final report and other online formats. Your voice will help advance key recommendations outlined in the 113 Pathways to Justice Report to benefit the lives of Indigenous women, girls and 2Spirit+ people in Alberta.
