Thank you for your interest in applying to the state's premier candidate training program for Democratic self-identified women!

Emerge California will select 15-20 women for each of our three cohorts (Northern California, Southern California and Central Valley) for the Class of 2021. Acceptance will be offered to those who meet the eligibility criteria and best demonstrate through the application and interview process that they have the experience, interest and commitment to fully participate in the candidate training program and serve as future elected leaders.

Given the circumstances related to COVID-19, all 2021 training sessions will be held virtually. Since the pandemic began, the health and safety of our program members, trainers, speakers and staff has been our number one priority and continues to be so. For more information about virtual training, visit our training schedule webpage.

Emerge California aims to recruit and train Democratic self-identified women from groups that have been historically underrepresented in politics, including Black women, non-Black women of color, Indigenous women, and LGBTQ+ women, as well as white women who stand up in solidarity.
