A new pedestrian and bike path on Broad St/227 will someday connect the cities of San Luis Obispo and Pismo Beach. The segment of the path between Los Ranchos Road and Aero Drive south of SLO is being designed. We would love to get your input on how it will look!
1.
The path will cross Los Ranchos Road, Crestmont Drive, and Buckley Road. There are several crossing options to consider.
Which Crossing type would feel safest?
Conventional Ladder Style Crossing
Raised Crosswalks (Slows traffic approaching the crossing)
Pedestrian Safety Islands (Reduce the amount of time you're exposed to traffic)
Pedestrian activated 'flashing light' style crossing (increases visibility)
2.
A rest stop with amenities such as benches, shade structures, bike racks, signage, and informal ‘play’ elements will be constructed at one of the following three locations (see green dots on the map).
Which Location would be best?
(there will be no private property impacts)
