Thank you for agreeing to take the Early Childhood Survey! This survey is intended to gather information for a project that is managed by the PEI Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. We are reviewing programs and services for preschool children, and developing a five year plan for early childhood development in PEI. In doing our work on this, it’s important that we understand what matters to you, as parents and caregivers of preschoolers in our province.
Our work is focused on children from pregnancy until five years old. We are interested in the kinds of programs your child may go to - such as family resource centres, early childhood education (child care) centres, community recreation programs, to name a few. We are also interested in the kinds of services that you use for your child – such as prenatal classes, home visiting, public health nursing, speech language, or immunization.
We are also interested in what kinds of things help you – what kind of plans you make for your child when you are at work, where you like to find information about children, or who you turn to for help when you need it.
It should take you about 10 or 15 minutes to complete the survey. A bar at the top of each page will show you how far along you are. If you change your mind about an answer, you can go back to a previous question by clicking on the “previous” button at the bottom of the page. Otherwise, just click “next” and you’ll go to the next question. If you exit the survey before you’re finished, you will have to start from the beginning again.
Your responses are confidential – we don’t ask for your name. We do ask what county you live in, and whether you live in or near a city, or if you are in a rural community.
If you have any questions, just email ' firstname.lastname@example.org ' and we’ll be happy to respond.
