Program Description

Marin 9 to 25 is providing 20 youth in Marin County with $500 for September 2022 - July 2023. We are looking for youth who are already participating in community programs in Marin County, or those who are interested in volunteering or participating in community work. Scholarship recipients will meet monthly to provide updates on their work in the community and collaborate with other youth on strategies, outreach, engagement, and promotion of their activities. Youth will also help drive the agenda for Marin 9 to 25.

Applications are due on September 19 and applicants will be notified about whether or not they will be granted the scholarship on September 26. You will receive a Marin 9 to 25 sweatshirt and qualify for 10 community service hours for meeting attendance, plus hours for additional work put in. Please find the timeline for the program and payments below.

This program will not take the place of any other programs you may be a part of. This will facilitate collaboration between your work and the work of other youth in the community.

All youth aged 9-25 are welcome to take part in Marin 9 to 25 or the RxSafe Marin Youth Action Team, even if you do not receive the funding. You will still be able to receive community service hours.

What you can expect from this opportunity:

  • Meet other youth in the community
  • Improve your meeting facilitation and communication skills
  • Learn more about other youth programs and initiatives across Marin County
  • Receive support and guidance from other youth on your program and initiatives, including event promotion and community engagement
