The passage of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) in December 2015 provides each state the chance to review important parts of our education system and identify ways in which our state can improve opportunities and outcomes for all Ohio’s students.
The Ohio Department of Education thanks the 15,000 Ohioans who have already provided input into the plan. Approximately 3,100 individuals participated in the ESSA webinars and 1,500 people attended the 10 regional meetings. There were more than 11,000 responses to the ESSA online survey. Additionally, the Ohio Department of Education participated in more than 70 meetings and presentations around the state and collected suggestions and recommendations submitted through email to the Department.

The Ohio Department of Education is committed to comprehensive and collaborative community engagement leading to the development of our state Student Success Plan. Everyone’s input is required to craft a plan that is deeply rooted in the needs of Ohio’s students, educators and communities.

We invite Ohioans to continue to provide input and feedback on Ohio’s draft plan outline by completing the survey below. You may choose to answer all or part of the questions.
