Overview
New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s (NJDEP) Electric School Bus Grant Program provides up to $15,000,000 per year for three years to support schools moving towards cleaner, healthier electric school buses. Funding is subject to availability.
Applications are due by 5:00 pm on Friday, August 28th, 2026.

Who's Eligible?
Under this solicitation, two types of entities are eligible to apply:

| Bus Only | $300,000 | $330,000 |
| Bus + Level 2 Charging Station** | up to $308,000 | up to $338,000 |
| Bus + DC Fast Charging (DCFC) Station** | up to $320,000 | up to $350,000 |
*Overburdened school districts include school districts located in municipalities categorized as overburdened communities.
**Charging station incentives are comprised of an additional up to $4,000 per Level 2 charging PORT (up to $8,000 per Level 2 charging station) and up to $20,000 per DC Fast Charging STATION.
