The Scientific Committee for the 6th Europe Region Physiotherapy Congress 2026 in Madrid warmly invites submissions for Focused Symposia – an integral part of our scientific programme.

Focused Symposia provide a unique opportunity to explore current and emerging topics of relevance to physiotherapy through coordinated presentations and discussion. The call for focused symposia is open to any topic that is relevant to the physiotherapy profession. The Scientific Committee is particularly interested in seeing proposals that address the following cutting-edge topics:
  • how physiotherapy needs to change to address European health issues, such as the demands of an ageing population, physical activity, health literacy, health systems funding and workforce shortage; topics identified in the European Commission strategic priorities; and the Sustainable Development Goals
  • professional challenges across all areas, such as diversity and inclusion, quality assurance, knowledge translation, implicit bias, mental health, and wellbeing
  • the role of innovative technology in physiotherapy
You will be asked to provide all the information listed in the call for focused symposia that you can find in this link. The same details are required on the following pages of the survey, so we strongly recommend reviewing the PDF first and gathering all the necessary information in advance.Having everything ready before you begin will make the process quicker and easier, and will help ensure your submission is complete. Once a proposal has been submitted it cannot be modified.

Applications will need to be submitted in English. For more information on the call for focused symposia please see the document.
