Applicants selected for the Mentor Teacher portion of this project need to be able to commit to attend all 4 days of Mentor training on: 

·         Fridays and Saturdays, September 28th and 29th and October 26th and October 27th  

·         One day of cultural consciousness training with a date to be determined.
 
Funding to the program for the staff time to attend training will be provided by ECCLC.

·         Work with an ECCLC coach to practice skills to mentor a student/employee fall 2018 (3-4 sessions)

·         Provide mentoring of a cohort student/employee from January through May 2019 with the support of an ECCLC Coach (4-6 sessions) plus on-going mentoring throughout the semester to help this student link theories being learned in the formal education setting with the real world of the classroom in practice.  Information about what is being taught in the formal setting will be shared with mentors and coaches as part of this process.
Ideal candidates are self-reflective, feel supported in their role in this project, are confident in working with young children as well as adults, can believe in the abilities of others to gain skills and expertise especially with the support of a mentor willing to provide them valuable experiences in the field.
