Full days on 9/26 and 9/27 and half day on 9/28
(Pending OVW Approval)
Greetings!!!

WOCN, Inc. is thrilled to invite anti-violence advocates working in organizations funded by the Office on Violence Against Women to our upcoming 2018 Women of Color Economic Policy and Leadership (EPL) National Summit in September 2018!

The purpose of the Women of Color EPL National Summit is to create an in-person space for women of color and indigenous advocates to address survivors' urgent economic security needs while advancing culturally specific innovations for safety, access, and security.

This training is free to recipients of any OVW Grant, including CSSP, Outreach and Services to Underserved Populations, STOP, Campus, Rural, Sexual Assault, and Tribal Grantees.

Registration is limited to 35 OVW grantees and registrants will be responsible for covering all related expenses, such as travel, meals not provided during training, and overnight accommodations. You may use your OVW training and travel funds to cover all related travel expenses after a) you have informed your OVW program manager and cleared it with them; and b) have an approved budget for FY17 use of funds. Do not book any travel or accommodations until given approval by WOCN and your OVW program manager.

Completing this registration form does not guarantee a space at the National Summit in September 2018. Selection of the 35 OVW-funded grantees will be based on order of application forms received and these criteria:

1)    The 35 advocates must work at an organization currently receiving OVW funds with priority to CSSP grantees;

2)    Selections will be made to ensure geographic and community diversity;

3)    Priority will be given to diverse advocates seeking to organize an ongoing services and policy response including through sustaining engagement with WOCN’s policy development in economic security; and,

4)    Priority will be given to advocates of color and indigenous advocates seeking to develop and enhance their leadership skills and impact in economic security for survivors of violence.

Organizations may submit registrations for more than one staff member though participation of multiple staff will also be subject to the criteria above.

The registration deadline is FRIDAY, August 17, 2018. Registrations will be reviewed in order received so do complete this form as soon as possible.

Please do not make any arrangements to attend until you have received confirmation of your attendance from WOCN. And please note that, if accepted for the convening, the information provided here will be utilized for a list of participants so provide contact information you would like shared.

We thank you for your interest & excitement!

We will follow up with registration and logistical information in the coming weeks. If you have any questions please contact Purvi Shah, WOCN Economic Policy and Leadership Senior Consultant, at purvishahwocn@gmail.com.
