Knowledge of:
1. Types, specifications and identification of specialized construction and mobile equipment, tools, parts, accessories, and supplies
2. Inventory and auditing procedures, purchasing methods, ordering, receiving, storing, and issuing practices and procedures including the keeping of receiving, shipping, and inventory and disposal records
3. Electronic inventory accountability systems and fleet management (i.e., AssetWorks)
4. Basic safe work practices to protect their own safety and health and that of others (i.e., safe operation of equipment, materials, etc.)
5. The State of California and departmental purchasing, storing, shipping and safety regulations and procedures, including those for hazardous materials
6. Socio-Economic Purchasing
7. The Division of Equipment’s inventory and asset accountability systems (i.e., Fleet Anywhere)
8. Allocation resource management
9. Principles of effective supervision, training and personnel development practices, and management of employee performance
10. Labor relations, training, drug awareness, and health and safety programs
11. Equal Employment Opportunity program, Diversity programs and objectives, and the processes available to meet program objectives
12. Safety regulations governing shop operation, including facility safety requirements, and a supervisor’s role in maintaining an effective Injury and Illness Prevention Program
13. State and Federal regulations on intrastate and interstate shipping
14. Accounting system processes (i.e., Advantage)
Ability To:
1. Communicate effectively to management, stakeholders, customers, and external contacts at a level required for successful job performance, both orally and in writing
2. Prepare, create, and maintain various accurate transaction resources such as documents, records, reports, and presentations

14. Initiate, administer, read, and interpret service contracts
15. Take appropriate action pertaining to contract decisions (i.e., extensions, revisions, determinations, etc.)
16. Write proposals, prepare reports, research and analyze reports, and develop presentations
17. Develop processes procedures, manuals, and trainings by researching and interpreting local, county, and statewide policies and procedures
18. Train staff on various processes and procedures
