ELSF’s mission is to collaborate with field-leading researchers, district leaders, teachers, content creators, and education funders to improve the supply and accessibility of high-quality K-12 “mainstream” instructional materials that address the linguistic and cultural needs of ELs. Our EL experts and practitioners work directly with esteemed content developers (nonprofits, publishers, etc.) to make materials more inclusive to the needs of ELs. Lessons learned and practical how-to documents and tools are developed and shared publicly so that all developers of content, including teachers, instructional teams, districts, states, and publishers, have access to research-based guidance as they consider the needs of the growing EL population.
