Register for Early Literacy 101, a workshop offered by Ohio Ready to Read and led by ORTR trainers Barbara Scott from Bucyrus Public Library and Janet Ingraham Dwyer from the State Library of Ohio. This is a FREE workshop.

The workshop will take place from 9:30 am - 4:00 pm on Friday, May 10 at the Wood County District Public Library, 2541 N. Main St., Bowling Green. There will be a one-hour break for lunch. Lunch is not provided. There are various eateries near the library; you're also welcome to bring a bag lunch if you prefer.

A certificate of attendance will be available on site.

* Briefly, what is your background/experience with early literacy? For example, are you very familiar, somewhat familiar, or not at all familiar with Every Child Ready to Read? Do you have an early childhood or education background? Are you knowledgeable about early childhood development and early literacy research in general? (There are no right or wrong answers; this is just to gauge the overall level of background knowledge of the workshop participants).

Plan to bring to the workshop two (or more) picture books that you like and enjoy using in storytime, and one storytime outline. If you don't lead storytimes, bring any picture books that you love, and borrow a storytime outline from a coworker, or locate one online, or contact us for assistance. The books you bring do not have to be on the storytime outline!
