Early Literacy 101 Workshop - September 22, 2026 - Cleveland Heights, Ohio

Register for Early Literacy 101, a workshop offered by Ohio Ready to Read and led by ORTR trainers Sam Schneider from Warren-Trumbull County Public Library and Maria Trivisonno from Cuyahoga County Public Library. This workshop is supported by ORTR, Heights Libraries, the trainers, and by the State Library of Ohio with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, and is made possible at no cost to you.

The workshop will take place from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm on Tuesday, September 22 at the Lee Road Branch of Heights Libraries, 2345 Lee Rd, Cleveland Heights.

Your information:(Required.)
Briefly, what is your background/experience with early literacy? For example, are you very familiar, somewhat familiar, or not at all familiar with Every Child Ready to Read? Do you have an early childhood or education background? Are you knowledgeable about early childhood development and early literacy research in general? (There are no right or wrong answers; this is just to gauge the overall level of background knowledge of the workshop participants).
Plan to bring to the workshop two (or more) picture books that you like and enjoy using in storytime, and one storytime outline. If you don't lead storytimes, bring any picture books that you love, and borrow a storytime outline from a coworker, or locate one online, or contact us for assistance. The books you bring do not have to be on the storytime outline!

Click the "Done" button below to submit your registration. You will not receive an automated registration receipt, but you will get an email within a few days to confirm your registration. The email will also repeat the instructions about what to bring, so you don't have to copy or save the instructions on this form.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact ORTR training coordinator Janet Ingraham Dwyer, jdwyer@library.ohio.gov or 614-644-6910.
