Thank you for participating in this focus group.  The Orange County Health Department has developed Septic Assist. Septic Assist is an education program to help homeowners make decisions about the maintenance of their onsite wastewater systems.  What follows is a brief survey of your knowledge of septic systems.
1.Do you know where your septic and pump tanks are located?
2.How often should it be pumped (cleaned out to remove solids)?
3.How many risers are accessible/visible over your septic and pump tanks?
4.These are questions about your tank's filter.  Do you know if your tank has a filter?  Do you clean it?
5.Which of the items listed below should NOT go down the drain or be flushed into the septic system?
6.Do you know where your septic drainfield is located?
7.Who should be contacted to service your septic system?
8.Where can you find permits and documents related to your septic system?
9.WERE YOU PRESENT FOR INSPECTION OF YOUR SEPTIC SYSTEM AND/ OR HAVE YOU WATCHED THE SEPTIC ASSIST VIDEO?
