In 2019, Early Education for Sustainability SA is offering scholarships to early career teachers working in early childhood education (birth- age 8) working in rural or remote areas with travel and accommodation to attend the EESSA Inc Conference. 

About EESSA Inc 

EESSA is a not for profit organisation established by a group of early education professionals. We support and strengthen early education and care services to engage in education for sustainability. EESSA works with services across SA and Australia. Valuing children’s awe and wonder of the natural world underpins our desire to walk softly on the earth and live in harmony at a local and global level.

Nature of the Scholarships 

The Conference will be held at the Adelaide Pavilion Saturday June 1st 2019 9am-3.30pm.

The scholarship includes accommodation at our partner hotel and reimbursement of reasonable travel expenses.

Eligibility Criteria 

The scholarships is open to candidates: 

• Currently working as a teacher in an early education or care service in a rural or remote area

• Currently interested in Education for Sustainability and working to implement programs that engage children

Your Application should include:   

1. A one-page written application explaining how attendance at the conference will assist your practice

2. A brief resume outlining your work experience, hobbies, community involvement and interests

3. A letter from your employer confirming your employment and your role in the service.

4. The contact details of two referees

5. Your full contact details, including your address

Application Procedures 

Applications submitted without the relevant documentation will not be considered.   

Selection Process 

The awarding of the scholarship shall be made at the absolute discretion of the Selection Committee. 

The selection committee reserves the right not to award a scholarship if no suitable applications are received.

The selection committee’s decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

The selection committee will determine all matters relating to the Scholarship. 

Payment 

The Conference ticket, and accommodation will be purchased on behalf of the scholarship recipient by EESSA Inc. Travel expenses will be paid as a per kilometer rate for return travel to and from Adelaide. 

Conditions of the Scholarship 

Scholarship awardees will be required to write a short summary of their experience for publication in the EESSA Inc E-news

By submitting the application, the applicant authorises the Selection Committee to verify any information provided by the applicant.
