Butterfly Bursary Film - Young people and eating disorders

CAPS (Collective Advocacy Promotion Services) is an independent collective advocacy organisation which works across Lothian.

We support a number of experience-led projects which conduct research on areas of mental health that people with personal experience of mental health issues feel are important.

Thanks to a grant from the Butterfly Bursary, CAPS, in partnership with CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) Eating Disorder Services have been given the opportunity to make a short film about eating disorders. The ‘Butterfly Bursary’ is a grant that has been set up in memory of Lindsay Wedell, a young woman who sadly died of anorexia. It was set up to support the public and those delivering services to learn more about what treatment, care and support helps people suffering from eating disorders.

The film will be created and developed by young people with personal experience of eating disorders to help raise awareness and educate other young people.

Advocacy is about bringing people together to share their experiences and help make a change. If you have lived experience of an eating disorder we would really like to hear your feedback on what the film should include.
