Interning with the Early Childhood Education Group at PHMC

Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) public health institute in operation since 1972.  The Corporation’s mission is to address problems in the organization and delivery of health and social services to population groups that are at risk for having poor health status and/or face barriers to needed services.

PHMC's Early Childhood Education (ECE) Group's mission is to ensure that all young children and their families, particularly those at-risk, have access to high quality early care and education experiences. The ECE Group at PHMC encompasses several core programs that support this mission: the Southeast Regional Key (SERK; www.seregionalkey.org), the Philadelphia Head Start Partnership (PHSP; http://philaheadstartpartnership.org/), Fund for Quality (FFQ; www.fundforquality.org), A Running Start: Facility Fund (http://philafacilityfund.org/) , ChildWare (childware.com), ECEHire.com (ecehire.com) and several others. These projects represent three distinct strategies for achieving this goal; quality improvement; expansion of quality seats; and demonstration of high quality programming.

We offer unpaid internships to graduate and undergraduate students who are interested in developing program management, planning and development skills in a non-profit setting.

Please submit this form to apply for a Summer 2016 internship with the Early Childhood Education Group at PHMC. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.

Most interns in the Early Childhood Education Group work on more than one project; this allows interns to enhance their content area expertise in multiple areas and to learn about various ECE projects/programs. Interns are expected to work 8-20 hours per week, with details arranged on a case by case basis. We are not accepting applications for Fall internships at this time.
