Durham Neighborhood Bicycle Routes Feedback Form Project BackgroundThe City of Durham is using bicycle route signs and pavement markings to help bicyclists navigate through the city. They guide bicyclists along city streets to destinations such as parks and schools. Bicycle symbols with arrows are placed on the pavement every block or two, to help guide people along the routes, and major intersections are improved for safer crossings along the routes. Routes were selected based on data, such as traffic volumes, traffic speeds, and street connectivity. These neighborhood bicycle routes are also known as “bicycle boulevards”.
