SAVE Domestic Violence Awareness Event 2018
October is nationally recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). The goal of DVAM is to raise public awareness about domestic violence and to educate communities on how to prevent it.
On Monday, October 29 at 4:30 PM the SAVE Program and the LSUHSC SAHP and LSUS Master of Public Health Program will be hosting an Balloon Release at the LSUHSC Student Union. This balloon release will provide an opportunity to remember victims and celebrate survivors of domestic violence. A guest speaker will provide a short talk about the issue of domestic violence in our community. Advocates will be available for individuals that need additional information or want to learn how to get involved. Environmental Note: Materials to be used are biodegradable and made in the USA.
