Survey 2: Draft Design Feedback

Introduction
The City of Vaughan is in the design phase of the redevelopment of Doctors McLean District Park in Woodbridge. Building on public consultation conducted late last year, the City is seeking feedback on the design of new elements and amenities coming to Doctors McLean District Park.

Please note that all maps and images shown are approximate locations and examples of proposed elements rather than the final designs. The survey questions focus on the park elements that the City is seeking feedback on. If interested, the complete draft design package (PDF) is available for review.
Project Context
Doctors McLean District Park is located at 8100 Islington Avenue. It is a large, secluded and well-used park located on the east side of the Humber River north of Highway 7 in Woodbridge. The park is roughly 15.5 hectares (38.3 acres) in size and is surrounded by forest. It currently contains a playground, a large-covered pavilion and a shade structure that can be booked for picnics and events, and a parking lot that can accommodate 100 vehicles.

By the summer of 2026, Vaughan will connect a key link in the Humber Trail – closing the gap between Clarence Street and both Islington Avenue and Woodbridge Avenue – through the construction of a new footbridge and pathways in Doctors McLean District Park. The new footbridge and pathways will establish important new connections for the community and build on the City’s growing active transportation network.

Public feedback collected so far has helped us identify the priorities and vision for the park’s redevelopment. The City is now in the design phase and we are seeking your input on these new amenities.
