Documentary Fellows

Student Application 2022-2023

The Reel Works Documentary Fellows is a 7-month-long filmmaking program. Doc Fellows apply to one of 3 Tracks: Story Producer, Cinematographer, Story Editor. The Doc Fellows will meet twice a week. Once collectively, with their Documentary Instructor, to build on the story and the collaboration, as well as meet guest speakers. On the second day, the cinematographer and editor would take classes along with the cinematography and editing fellows, while the producers work with a documentary filmmaker who will instruct them on how to execute their individual roles as well as how they collaborate to bring the story together.

This workshop is a hybrid program that will meet online and in person at Reel Works' office in Gowanus, Brooklyn. If students are not able to meet in person, we can make accommodations for them. Reel Works will be following the COVID-19 guidelines and recommendations put forth by nyc.gov.
