Tourism Wollongong Ltd Destination & Demographic Survey 2009/2010 |
1. Informal Destination and Demographic Survey
Demographic and Destination Survey 2009/2010
Tourism Wollongong is undertaking a research analysis project designed to capture information from visitors to the Southern Gateway Centre regarding their travel plans in the region. Tourism Wollongong would like to better understand reasons of visitation to the Southern Gateway Centre Visitor Information Centre and proposes to ask a number of targeted questions by an informal face to face manner.
Targeted questions will enquire if a visitor to the Southern Gateway Centre is either a Local [defined as living within the Local Government Area of Wollongong] or a Tourist [defined as living outside the Local Government Area of Wollongong]. Questioning as to their actual place of Origin [defined as where they actually reside at] and where their Destination is [defined as to what actual city, town or area they are travelling to on this visit to the Southern Gateway Centre] will provide information on the locale of visitors to the centre.
Finally targeted questions of length of stay at the destination and overall impressions of the centre will be canvassed.
The Research will be under pinned by Age Demographic. The Age Demographic used will be common titles known of Silent Generation [defined as persons born between 1923 - 1945] Baby Boomers [defined as persons born between 1946 - 1961] Generation X [defined as persons born between 1962 - 1977] and Generation Y [defined as persons born between 1978 - 1994]. Researchers will not ask this as a direct question but will make an assumption of the person after informal interview.
